Chief Ogboru’s supporters had already started celebration in Abraka and Warri with the early results from Delta Central Senatorial District, where he won in seven of out of the eight local government areas, but, Dr. Uduaghan had the last laugh with victory in 13 local governments out of the total number of 23 announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday morning. Ogboru had a total of 10.
The state is made up of 25 local governments. The results of two local governments were yet to be announced at the time of this report, leaving two, which areIsoko North and Isoko South.
However, Vanguard gathered that Chief Ogboru protested to the INEC over the result, which his party said was rigged for the PDP in some areas.
Overall, Dr. Uduaghan won in both Delta North and Delta South Senatorial Districts while Ogboru won in Delta Central Senatorial District. Uduaghan hails from Warri North, which is in Delta South and Ogboru is from Abraka in Ethiope East local government area. Both candidates delivered their local governments to their parties, but Uduaghan posted 37,139 votes against Ogboru’s 470 in his area, while Ogboru polled 18,916 to outclass Uduaghan’s 1,282 in his area.
